Here we honor
219 Glider Pilots Killed in Action during WWII
and 181 Glider Pilots who died in the line of duty while serving their country During World War II.
WE PRESERVE TROOP CARRIER/GLIDER PILOT FILES AND PHOTOS IN PERPETUITY.
At the Silent Wings Museum, in the library/archive room, there are file cabinets holding biographical files on all the glider
pilots. The names on each of the biographical folders were added from the database created by the men who flew the gliders
as well as the names of those killed in action or died in the line of duty.
In this database are the names of 7,302 individuals who were trained as glider pilots and earned their wings with MOS 1026.
The WWII veteran glider pilots, with the help of their Research Team, are making an effort to update and add to those files.
You can be a part of preserving the Troop Carrier history. If you have documentation,
photos or stories for those names listed on this site please contact us. The information you provide to our Committee or the museum goes into
the biographical file of the veteran’s folder at the Silent Wings Museum for Perpetuity. Any original photos you donate go into a cold storage facility
for photo preservation. Please help our veterans with this endevour by providing any information that you have regarding any of the names listed in our
KIA or LOD lists.
A Sincere thank you from the Committee's Executive Council,
