SILENT WINGS MUSEUM NEWSLETTER

The SILENT WINGS newsletter, a privately owned publication, served as the Voice of the World War II Combat Glider Pilot for over twenty-eight years.  Sadly, Mr. William K. Horn, the founder and editor, passed away on September 15, 2001 after an extended illness.  Members of our association have accepted this publication as the "official" newsletter of all glider pilots.  Unfortunately, this publication will no longer be published.

The recently opened Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock, Texas has established a publication entitled, Silent Wings Museum Newsletter, The Legacy of the World War II Glider Pilots.. In view of the fact that glider pilot and widow members of our association have been given Free Lifetime Membership in the Silent Wings Museum, this quarterly newsletter has been mailed to all active members of the National World War II Glider Pilots Association at no charge.  The format is similar to the previous association newsletter as it will contain news items provided by our association.  The primary purpose of this newsletter is to advise all members of the Museum about the status of the Silent Wing Museum and related activities. The museum staff has gone that extra mile to continue the communications link with our association members.  What will be missing are the newsy editorial items and articles that were written by Bill Horn and Letters to the Editor in his newsletter,
